Eames Demetrios to lead tour of Kymaerican historic sites

(Athens, GA) Eames Demetrios will lead a tour of three major Kymaerican historic sites in conjunction with the opening of his newest exhibition, Sarke Georgia and Kymaerica: The A.I.R. Report, at Mercury Art Works in Athens, Georgia. The tour will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Westside Complex (1198 Howell Mill Road) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Demetrios’s work reinterprets the American landscape through the discovery of the parallel world, Kymaerica. The history of Kymaerica can be explored through historic markers located across the linear United States from Key West to Manhattan and Culver City, California to Athens, Georgia, through Demetrios’s narrative photography, or through his many lectures on Kymaerican history.

Sarke Georgia and Kymaerica: The A.I.R. Report explores recent developments in Kymaerican history and the exhibition will celebrate the dedication of three new Kymaerican historic markers located in Fulton County, Hall County, and Laurens County (all Georgia).

The tour will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2006 with the dedication of a new historic marker located at the Westside Complex at 1198 Howell Mill Road. Demetrios will speak on the significance of various Kymaerican landmarks as the tour makes its way to Gainesville, Georgia for the dedication of the second plaque at the Copper Penny building on Washington Street. The final stop on the tour will be at Mercury Art Works in Athens, Georgia. Tour participants will receive a preview of the exhibition and private reception with Demetrios. Tickets for the tour are $95. A limited number of complimentary media seats are available.
